Shake It Off & In to the Fire
Scripture references: Matthew 10:11-14 "And into whatsoever city or town ye shall enter, enquire who in it is worthy; and there abide till ye go thence.  12And when ye come into an house, salute it. 13And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you. 14And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet."

I Corinthians 9:24 - 27 "Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. 25And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. 26I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air: 27But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway."

Acts 28:1-5 "And when they were escaped, then they knew that the island was called Melita. 2And the barbarous people shewed us no little kindness: for they kindled a fire, and received us every one, because of the present rain, and because of the cold. 3And when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks, and laid them on the fire, there came a viper out of the heat, and fastened on his hand. 4And when the barbarians saw the venomous beast hang on his hand, they said among themselves, No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he hath escaped the sea, yet vengeance suffereth not to live. 5And he shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no harm."

The following are a few highlights from Apostle Perry's message:

"The fight is fixed." meaning the devil can do whatever he likes, but he can not win. Satan has come to kill, steal, and destroy. He tries to keep the saints from gaining understanding in the things of God. But, his efforts can not prevail against the Church.

Using the example of Samson, Pastor reminded us that we must crucify our flesh despite the spiritual power that we may possess. Samson took the city gates off their hinges, caught and set fire to  some foxes, and whipped a multitude with the jawbone of an ass, but he could not resist the temptress Delilah.

He quickly added that we must shake off the things that are hinder us and that may mean shaking off some folks to which we are "tied". If we are going to stand, we are going to have to learn how to fight "for real".
