| On Friday October 9, 2009, Apostle Mark Perry, pastor of Lighthouse of Worship Ministries Inc was awarded participation in the Caregiver’s Choice Voucher Demonstration Program, under the IRS 501(a) and 501(c) (3) Organization Exemption Section Code; by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and Caregiver’s Choice of Alexandria, VA mentoring Children of Prisoners Program.
Light A Life Mentoring Provider of West TN Inc will operate under the IRS 501(c) (3) Umbrella Tax Exemption Agreement Section Code of Lighthouse of Worship Ministries Inc 4400 Warren RoadHumboldt, TN. It is designed to increase access to mentoring services nationwide and provide caregivers and parents the choice to select a mentoring program that meets high quality standards. This initiative is funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
Caregiver’s Choice criterion is to provide mentors to children between the ages of 4 and 18 with a parent in a federal or state prison. Participating program providers must meet quality mentoring services standards including the use of FBI fingerprint criminal background checks for volunteer mentors. The goal is to serve children who reside in West Tennessee’s rural and urban areas. All perspective mentors will be provided with ongoing training and technical assistance. An orientation with detailed update information regarding the mentoring program will be announced at a later date.
